hvctx We got this for my daughter for her 3rd birthday, and she loves it. We have had it for 3 months, and we haven't had to change the batteries at all. The only thing that we weren't that impressed with is the photo quality. You have to hold the camera very still to get a clear shot. Even then, they are still smaller pics. Anyhow, she uses it all the time, and loves it. Now, she doesn't bug us to use our camera all the time. We haven't had any problems with it, and I know that Fisher Price will back up their product, if we ever do.
Jays mom We purchased this camera for our daughter's 6th birthday. I think we expected too much from it. She really liked it for the first day and took pictures of everything-including pictures! But she has rarely used it since. It is super easy to use and is great for the really little ones, but don't expect to get good pictures. For the best picture you have to stand 4-4.5 feet from something (good luck getting a kid to do that!) and even then the pictures are pretty bad-even viewed on computer. I'm not really sure it's worth the money. You'll definately need to lower your expectations. I would not recommend it or anyone over 4.

MIchael the Art Dad I have had this camera for about 2 years now, and we bought it for my 2 year old daughter for Christmas as this was the only thing she had wanted for the holiday gift giving occasion. I had the same initial reaction as a lot of people, the image quality is poor, drains batteries, etc. but this is all not true. The camera does not do great in low light, and the flash (as in any camera) will strain batteries, but, if you treat the camera as a real camera (get good batteries) all the battery problems are non existant and you find that a good set of batteries will last you a minimum of a year (and counting). After two years of having this camera, my daughter still takes it with her to various places for photo shoots, and I absolutely LOVE the pictures it has taken. I even made her a small abstract photo book of some of my favorite shots. Not only do I have a special packed folder on my computer just for her photos, but she loves to look at the photos that she has taken, and I love hearing her tell me what some of the less distinguishable pics are. The camera is a toy, it will not ever be a replacement for my Canon Rebel, but it will forever be a part of some of fine art shots as this camera does take some interesting photos in low light. In bright light it takes O.K. pics. This camera is great, and for her fourth b-day, we are considering an upgrade to a 9MP camera+ and know that even though it will be a better camera, it will never completely replace her first camera. The only problem I have with the camera really, is that after it being handled this much and being dropped as many times (which it was made for), some of the rubber grips are coming unglued by the shutter button. I also wish they offered the simple point and shoot with a higher megapixal, as I believe this one is less than 1mp. There is also the problem of the memory card, I had to replace it within a month of my daughter playing with it, but as they are cheap (recomend a kingston 2gb [...]. for under $10 and it will last a lifetime). The reason I gave it a 4star rating is because of this, and my daughter was unable to use the camera without a memory card. In comparison to the other cameras out there for toddlers, this by far is the only one that makes sense, one touch shooting, easy to navigate and discard photos (which this is actually a problem as my daughter does like to take them, but also delete them before I can get them onto my computer), and a simple menu. She loves it, and I think it will last for years to come.
andons mommy My son got this camera for his birthday. We already had to return it once because it wouldn't stay on. We thought the batteries were dead so we replaced them and still would not stay on. Got a new one. This one lasted almost 3 weeks and now its doing the same thing
Mommy of two My 3 year old son,2 year old niece and 5 year old niece received last years model this past Christmas and like the new ones...they worked for maybe a week or two.Really disappointing...Fisher Price used to have such a good reputation....I always read reviews on all Fisher Price products before buying now...in the past I wouldn't have hesitated to buy their products. They need to improve their products asap, they have alot of competition these days.
A&Amom My 3 1/2 year old was so excited to get this camera until he took 4 pictures and the battery died. So I put new batteries in it. A few more pictures and the battery died. What a waste of money. Now he just uses it as a pretend camera which I could have bought for $1.
Adam's mommy Our 4 year old son loves this camera (as do his 8 year old and 2 year old brothers!). He takes pictures of everyone and everything, and is thrilled to see his photos on the computer. It is very easy for him to use, but we had to explain about the delete button, since he got rid of some of his pictures accidentally. We haven't printed any yet, but I don't expect much with 1.3 MP. Be careful when you buy this product that the packaging says something along the lines of "new with bigger screen" or you'll be paying the same amount of money for a smaller screen. Definitely makes a difference!
Mom My son got this camera for Christmas. He's three and for his age it's perfect. Reading some of the other reviews, I think you have to consider your child's age and ability to be careful. He's having a ball taking pictures. Unless he actually stands still the quality is pretty terrible. But, he's got few that aren't so bad. At his age he's more interested in TAKING the pictures rather than getting them developed. My eight year-old got a real camera that cost about $99. We got the extra warranty to cover when he inevitably will drop it. It's easy to use and for a young child it is great. If you have a budding photographer who wants to look at his pictures on paper then you might look elsewhere.
