Marv A little confusing to get the download done correctly. Kids love it and it is user friendly once set up correctly

Lovemymommylife This is our third Leap Pad (first Leap Pad2). If we hadn't put so much money into games, adaptor, ear phones, I never would have replaced the first one. My daughter dropped the first in our kitchen and the screen shattered. I couldn't believe it was not more durable. We only had it two weeks but Toys R Us made us use our warranty. We purchased a 2nd and had to purchase the warranty again. The battery compartment stopped working on the 2nd one after a few months. I tried several different brands of new batteries and it would not work. It worked fine with the AC adaptor but our daughter didn't want to be stuck to the wall. So we used our warranty again and purchased the new Leap Pad 2. We have spent so much money on warranties but this is the last one I will purchase. I really wish we had spent extra money up front and purchased an iPad. We've already spent that much money on this toy. Games are too expensive whereas apps are free. My daughter loves the Leap Pad and that's why we have repurchased but she also loves mine and my husbands iPads. This toy just isn't worth the money.

Angie My little girl is in love with her new LeapPad2.She was able to quickly understand and how to use the Leap Pad 2.

Leap Pad 2 new features are: a higher resolution front and back camera, more memory space, faster processor, improved battery life, two new in-built in games, and rechargeable battery pack option.

Those upgrades make a difference. I wasn't sure what the old Leap Pad so I checked out the first Leap Pad at the store. To give me the feel of how the old Leap Pad functioned. The new The LeapPad2 feels much better, faster response, when turning it on or changing between pages to browse through the apps.

The two new apps: Cartoon Director and Art Studio are an awesome addition to the other regular apps from the first Leap Pad. Cartoon Director allows you to snap photo of a friend or family member and then put their head directly into a story before recording their own voice.

What I Love about LeapPad2: It's durability. The quality of the leaPad2 is strong and has passes the clumsiness of my little one. She has dropped the LeapPad twice now and seem it will last a long time. Another feature would be the rechargeable battery option.

Overall, the quality & price is reasonable. The Leap Pad 2 is perfect for the little ones to learn and entertainment.

Disclosure: I received a LeapPa2 for the purpose of this review. All opinions and content of this post are my own.

Night Owl Mama We've loved Leap Frog brand for well over 20 years. Leap Frog took all the original things we loved about the Leap Pad and gave it some awesome improvements. One of the additions my kids love is the dual built in video camera on the front and back. This allows children to film themselves and also film or take pictures of their subject. Kids love taking photos and then using the drawing app with the art and photo studio. They can play with that feature all day!

My boys are in preschool and 1st grade. The games and apps, stories, video's, Music, and ebooks start from the level of skill of the child and gradually challenges them as they learn. We love that having just one system allows for so much diversity within a separate profile set up for each user.

The LeapPad 2 memory size has doubled from the original LeapPad. It now holds up to 4G of downloads. LeapFrog has over 325+ apps with characters your child already knows and loves. They'll sure to have a long list of apps they'll be asking to play and the best part is that they won't even realize they are learning and enhancing their math, reading, learning comprehension, along with creativity while they play the games.

The LeapPad2 is perfect for little hands.

Created especially for kids ages 3-9

My 4 yr old is pretty rough on products and the LeapPad2 has certainly been taken a beating. Its been dropped, thrown, and even hung by the pen and swung around. YES I'm not joking U know boys are rough on equipment BUT we have never had any issues it just amazes me that this product is so Tough.

Kids will play with the LeapPad2 for hours a day. We love the Leap Pad2 extra games like Phineas and Ferb, Cars and Toy Story3 but go through batteries like crazy. There is now a rechargeable battery pack available at extra cost.

NOTE: Must have a computer to purchase more apps. Each App cost from $5 on up. BUT you can tell friends and family to purchase a download card for gifts. Device is easy to operate and connect to computer in a few steps.

Brit Honestly, this is the BEST toy that my son(almost 6 years old) has ever gotten. We upgraded from the Leapster Explorer to this one and it was the best thing we could have done. Double the memory space(4gig), 2 cameras, tons of games available as both apps and cartridge games along with movies and music available as apps as well. I have 2 sets of rechargeable batteries and just switch them out as needed. This thing is a life saver in the car on trips, keeps him easily entertained and he has no clue that he's actually learning. I recommend setting up before even letting your kid see it because it does take some time(almost 20 minutes here, but only because I already had the software installed), but it's fun. Love LeapFrog!

momof2 My 4 year old daughter loves this, she was using my ipad everyday and it was getting a little beat up so we decided to try this out and she plays with it more you can get nick jr tv shows on there music, games.....she really loves it, I do recommend getting the rechargeable battery ($40) the 1st day she used up the batteries! so if your on the fence about getting it because you think they wont like it as much as your ipad....dont worry they will and it grow with the kid to age 9! good investment, getting one for our 2 year old son for christmas

Irish Mother Upgraded from the Explorer to the LeapPad2, the games work with both that's GREAT and the stylus is on the right/(bottom when playing a game).Even BETTER! My right handed child had some problems with the explorer stylus, storage located on the left, therefore always used left hand. The Leappad2 asks child if left or right handed, therefore putting the image on the correct side of the screen! Hand writing improving. Camera is fun, really like the art work you can create with the pictures that you take. Overall enjoyable, educational and fun for my child.

Jared's Mom I rarely review any toys, but I had to share how much my son loves his leappad. He's only two, but can play and enjoy most of the games (although I'll admit it, he's pretty terrible). My son is rather tough with his toys, but this one seems to be holding up well (in the protective case). We also bought the replacement plan for $14.99, and it's totally worth the piece of mind.

Cascade My son got this for his fourth birthday and loves it!! The games are great and I like how it has a two sided camera!! It holds a lot of pictures and videos. I don't like the fact that you can't easily delete pictures and/or videos quickly...... it takes awhile and that there is not a flash for the camera. (keep in mind though, this is a child's toy!!) Oh and we love that you can have different profiles saved!! So that saved us from buying another one for our 3 year old!! The only thing we didn't like about this is that we were going through batteries every day!! So make sure you invest in the recharger pack!! Other than that this product is great for a child!!
